Royal Society Publishing website redesign
Type:
Web design
Information:
The Royal Society for me was a prestigious job as I am a huge fan of their work, so I was very happy and honoured to be involved with the design the publishing site whilst working for Design UK.
As you can imagine, their is a lot of content involved going back a lot of years, and our job was to simplify the content and give the site a user friendly, clean and appealing look and feel, enabling anyone to use, browse and learn from it. The other stipulation from Design Uks' side was to create something that could be easily updated by themselves, allowing for the people that worked for the publishing site the ability to update important scientific information and reports as soon as they were published. In order to do this, we created a modular design where the site user could order and crate content where they wanted it, giving them the ability to manage their own hierarchy of information. For me the clean functional site delivered exactly what was asked of it.
