Involved right from the start of the project, I worked hand in hand with the Berghaus eCommerce team at Pentland, gathering requirements to form a design and build brief.
Having a global presence and knowing the site would have to be multi-lingual, we chose a modular approach to the design, altering the information architecture to fit, making sure that the information needed for both the device & the target audience could be adapted to fit accordingly.
One of the primary objectives was to balance the lifestyle aspect of the site, with greater emphasis on Athletes & Technologies, blogs and communities with the retail perspective.
Working closely with the eCommerce team, the cleaner lighter design aesthetic and overall user experience has been greatly received both by Berghaus themselves and their user base.
The design itself has become the template for the US, German and Japanese sites which are soon to launch.
